Such a beautiful tribute song of a father’s love for his son, “Beautiful Boy” by John Lennon, Double Fantasy Album, contains the words ” Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans”
It is a reminder to enjoy the moment, and live more in the now, rather than putting things off for later, and delaying for planned futures that may or may not eventuate.
Although the quote is often attributed to John Lennon, it has several other prior incarnations and attribution is said to be Allen Saunders (Readers Digest 1953)
John Lennon’s song “Beautiful Boy” 1980 was written for his son Sean.
The lyrics also say ” I can hardly wait to see you come of age” although sadly John Lennon did not live to see his son turn 21 as he was shot and killed in December 1980 New York.
